Welfare

As medics, it’s easy to think that just because we’re learning how to help others, we’re not allowed to need help ourselves. But we’re only human, too, with a high pressure degree, and lives that can throw curve balls at us, as and when they please.

In the past year, we have hosted a coffee morning, established a network of welfare officers, started a mental health awareness campaign #MedicsHealthMattersToo, given out free breakfasts for pre-exam nourishment, and are in the process of setting up a student lead supervision system for academic peer support (MEDucate system).
