26 Jan MEDSIN TALK: *FREE* Professor James Wood – Where do new infectious diseases come from and how do they emerge?
Professor Wood is Head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine. His interests lie in the dynamics of infections at different scales, from sub-cellular, through to within host and the population level. His work focusses on processes underlying emergence of infectious diseases in various models, including dynamics of the generation of viral variants within hosts and during transmission of influenza, the potential impact of lyssavirus and henipavirus infections in African bat reservoir hosts, and bovine tuberculosis persistence and control.
